Perched on a private hilltop with no neighboring homes, the entire property is built around one core idea: uninterrupted lake views. Every room, including all five bedrooms and even the bathrooms, faces the water.
But what really sets this villa apart is the contrast. Inside, it feels warm and lived-in with wooden furniture, soft cushions, earthy tones. Outside, it opens up to this dramatic, almost surreal view of the lake. You’ll swim in the L-shaped pool, turn around, and feel like the whole villa is floating above water. That mix of homeliness and breathtaking is what stays with you.
Inside the Stay
The five bedrooms are generously spaced and designed to feel personal, whether you’re stepping into the master suite or settling into one of the guest rooms, each space opens up to its own private view. The six bathrooms are just as thoughtfully planned, with bathtubs placed right by floor-to-ceiling windows so you can soak with the sunset in sight.
The living area flows into a dining space that sits right off the shorter edge of the L-shaped pool, making it easy to float between meals and swims. There’s also an indoor library that’s quiet, minimal, and perfect for rainy afternoons. Scattered across the deck and lawns are small nooks: a swing near the pool, a few chairs by the edge, a tucked-away jacuzzi. You don’t have to move far to find a new place to be.
What we loved
The drive itself builds anticipation, you’re winding up a hill, catching glimpses of the villa perched high above, and then you arrive. From the back entrance, you can’t see what’s ahead. But the moment the main door swings open, it hits you: an expansive infinity pool stretching toward the lake, framed by unbroken mountain views.
The layout is smart: passages and entrances run along the back, keeping the entire front façade wide open to the water. It means that wherever you are, the lake is always in sight.
The view evolves throughout the day, into one of the best sunset experiences you’ll find in this part of India. Golden light hits the pool, the lake glows, and if you’re lucky with the weather, the entire sky turns dramatic right in front of you.
There’s a large, well-designed living space that feels inviting, and enough privacy to feel like you’re the only ones on the hill. No other homes or rooftops disturb the skyline, you’re truly in your own world. Mornings bring their own charm with the sounds of peacocks echoing across the property and, if you’re up early enough, the chance to spot a few strolling around.
