Casa Dos Reis
The Place : Vagator, Goa
Goa’s VIP Vagator Villa With Booking Only On Request
In Vagator, where luxury homes are everywhere, Casa dos Reis stands apart not just because it’s newer, but because you can’t book it the usual way. There’s no link, no listing, no website. Stays here are arranged only by direct request with the owners, making it one of those rare addresses you hear about through word of mouth.
Recently built, the villa itself makes a dramatic first impression. Tall pillars, a row of arches, and a bold triple-arched doorway open into a soaring double-height living room that feels both open and commanding. Each space inside is designed to shift in mood: the vast living hall in airy, modern minimalism; the dining room with ethnic motifs and a large artwork drawn from mystic spiritualism, creating a quieter rhythm. Upstairs, wide balconies flow out from the bedrooms, framing views of the sprawling green lawn. Step outside, and the poolside unfolds into a relaxed cabana styled like a Goan shack, a space made for slow breakfasts or unhurried evening conversations in Vagator’s salt air
Inside the Stay
The villa offers nine bedrooms open to guests, each one designed with a distinct style and layout. The bathrooms vary, with some featuring elegant bathtubs to enhance comfort. Upstairs rooms lead out to wide balconies where you can enjoy views of the lawn below and fresh air. On the ground floor, the double-height living room acts as the villa’s centerpiece, offering a roomy social space flooded with natural light.
The outdoor areas reflect Goa’s easygoing spirit. The poolside area is furnished with loungers and a spacious cabana reminiscent of a beach shack, making it an ideal spot for relaxing or socializing. The extensive lawn not only accommodates gatherings but also functions as an organic farm, adding a touch of nature and freshness to the property’s grand scale.
What we loved
You walk into these soaring arches that make the house feel expansive, but then the dining room pulls you in with white chairs detailed with tiny bird motifs, a black chandelier glowing warm, and paintings that instantly remind you of Jaipur palaces. Even the fans caught our eye, not your standard ones, but designed almost like little art pieces. It’s that mix of modern and ethnic, big and intimate, that makes every corner feel worth exploring.
Outside, it’s just as special. The lawns aren’t only for show, they tie into the villa’s organic farms, which means the food you eat here is often as fresh as it gets. The pool is hard to resist, especially with the cabana right beside it, styled like a Goan shack. We ended up spending hours there, sometimes just stretched out in the sun, sometimes gathered late into the night, laughing like it was our own little café inside the property. And the best part? You won’t find Casa dos Reis on booking sites. Staying here means knowing who to call, which makes the whole experience feel like being let in on a secret.
